You guys wanna try and get a group together for this? It's called Jugger, and it's just about the coolest game I've ever seen. It's high contact boffer fighting, combined with football. And kinda mixed, oddly enough with that sport in the Harry Potter books. Only need 10 players, 3 refs, and x number of substitutes.

It's two teams of 5 people, fighting over control of the skull, usually a slightly weight tube object. The more fancy groups it's shaped like a dogs skull. The five people are:

The Qwik - the only person who can touch the skull, can not hold a weapon. The only person the qwik can attack is the other qwik, and that's only with ground based grappling, hips to shoulders.
Three Enforcers - players that protect the qwik, can use enforcer weapons (see below) The enforcer can handle the skull, but only with their weapon.
The Chain - slow moving long range attacker, uses a chain (see below)

Weapons:

Enforcer;
# A staff, 180 cm in length, thrusting is not allowed
# A Q-Tip, 200 cm in length, double-ended, thrusting is allowed
# A longsword, 140 cm in length, thrusting is allowed
# A short sword and shield, short sword 85 cm in length, thrusting is allowed; padded shield, 60 cm in diameter

Chain;
A chain, 320 cm in length

The chain is made from a handle about the length of a small baseball bat, connected to the handle is a small light weight chain, yes an actual chain. The end of the chain is capped off with, from what I've read, one of those soft fuzzy soccer balls. Which is then padded, the last 2 feet of the chain are also padded with small bout 2 inch long tubes. Yea it hits hard, but they train a lot for it, and the padding keeps it from hurting. Keep reading.

A game is kept time by using one of two things, either gong, or a large drum. The drum is stuck once a second, known as a stone. A round last for 100 stones. A game last for 3 rounds.

When hit by a weapon you must drop to the ground for 5 stones, hence the need for a loud time keeper.

A score is made by placing the skull in a hole in the center of a small mound.

The dimensions of the playing field. The playing field is a long Octagon. This can be seen in Derek's link about the rules, under scoring.

The field is 132ft. long down the center, 99ft long down the sides. It is 66ft wide at the center, and 33ft wide at it's end. The goals are placed 6.6ft from the ends.

Crossing over any of the field lines is a death, and thus 5 stones down. If the Qwik crosses over with the ball, the nearest referee replaces the ball, on the field.

This game originated in Germany, one term in Hamburg, one in Berlin. They played until it hit mass popularity. Now there are teams in Ireland, Germany, Australia, Costa Rica, and Denmark. The first ever international Jugger tournament was held in 2007. There's even a group in America, though they play through Amtgard, and it only has minor similarities.

Not the original rules on making weapons. These are Australia's rules, but hey!!! It's in english. I'd still like to use the german lengths though, they allow longer weapons.

All of the rules for the game. I am totally the Qwik unless Chris plays because that little dude is fast, but I really want to be qwik. We need to find a team to play against.

Awesome that had the only thing I couldn't find. The size of the playing field.
