Running round the park - march 12

Teela runs swiftly about the park, following somewhat in Devon's footsteps. (speed of thought)

(she should be able to catch him if he's jogging.)

Devon catches the sound of footsteps behind him and abruptly stops and takes a defensive stance. Seeing Teela, he relaxes a bit but not that much. "Oh, hey. What's going on?"

"Running, my legs are itchy."

She runs up beside him, "What are you doing?"

"Running. I was performing my caern duties." Devon said dismissively.

"Are you going to beCaern Warder?"

"I doubt it. I'll probably just end up the leader of a pack, then maybe the elder homid or glasswalker." Devon's shoulders sagged. "Is there a particular position you're looking out for?"

"Nothing, I don't have the rank to request any position."


"Are you going to form a pack?"

"I'm going to join one and then probably challenger for leadership." Devon sighed. "It doesn't really matter much to me what pack I join or what totem I follow. I don't really feel a strong pull to any."

"That's sad. You should enjoy who you follow."

Darien started jogging again, "I'll follow dutifully."

She waits a moment then starts to follow, "Only dutifully?"

Devon sighed and began running backwards, able to easily avoid roots, ditches and anything else in his way. "I'll do what I must in the name of Gaia, but I can't really take Gaia as a totem."

She tilts her head to the side, "Yea, I guess. But what if you could? Wouldn't that be amazing."

"Yes." Devon said with a note of finality, and turned again picking up the pace.

She stops running alongside him and stands, watching him run along, then she Blurs and disappears.
